PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underroof thatching material capable of increasing drainage efficiency and air permeability on the surface of a underroof thatching material such as rain water or the like permeating in a roof and, at the same time, increasing air permeability on the rear side of the underroof thatching material to prevent moisture. SOLUTION: The underroof thatching material is constituted by integrally connecting papers 12 and 13 on both up and down surfaces of a sheet-like basic material of soft synthetic resin, at the same time, integrally forming a projected stripe 14 having an approximately certain height linearly extended in one direction at a predetermined interval on one surface of the sheet-like basic material 11, integrally forming a large number of nonslip projections 18 projected by a predetermined height in the same surface of the sheet-like basic material 11 and integrally forming a large number of gap forming projections 16 projected by a predetermined height in the surface of the opposite side of the sheet-like basic material 11. Accordingly, drainage efficiency and air permeability in the surface of the substrate material such as rain water or the like permeating into the roof are increased, at the same time, air permeability in the rear side of the substrate material is increased to prevent moisture, and the effect of nonslip of an operator's foot in work of thatching the substrate material can be exhibited.
