<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable optical head device in which a separation ratio of light guided to a light-receiving element for a monitor to light condensed on a disk is constant and does not vary even if the polarization direction of a laser light emitted fluctuates while a semiconductor laser is in operation. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical head device, a polarization light filter 2 is arranged so that light emitted in a specific polarization direction passes through an optical path between a beam splitter 3 provided in the optical head device and the semiconductor laser 1, the beam splitter 3 being characterized in that a ratio in light quantity of emitted light heading for a disk 7 from the semiconductor laser 1 to emitted light heading for the light-receiving element 4 changes according to the polarization direction of light incident to the beam splitter 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
