PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device of which the control part and the electric components are protected against heat even when the display device happens to be installed under an abnormal condition by preventing temperature of the control part and the electric components from rising above the preset value. SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with a nearly box shaped main body, a liquid crystal panel 4 and a backlight 10 arranged on the front face side of the main body, the control part 3b arranged on the rear face side of the main body and a first temperature sensor 3c to detect the temperature of the control part 3b. When the first temperature sensor 3c detects a temperature equal to, or higher than, the first preset value, the control part 3b reduces electric power to be inputted to the backlight 10. Furthermore, an assembly substrate 9 is arranged on the rear face side of the main body. A second temperature sensor 3d to detect the surface temperature is arranged on the assembly substrate 9. When the first temperature sensor 3c detects the temperature equal to, or higher than, the first preset value or when the second temperature sensor 3d detects a temperature equal to, or higher than, the second preset value, the control part 3b reduces the electric power to be inputted to the backlight 10.
