PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an electronic component that has high shutdown characteristics and meltdown resistance even in the case of laminating electrodes by a weak adhesive force and the separator so as to prevent the crushing of a porous layer of the separator. SOLUTION: This is the separator 10 for the electronic component in which the porous layer 12 composed of an electric insulative resin composition is formed at least on one face of the porous substrate 11. The electric insulative resin composition contains 50 wt% or more of a resin compound in which solubility to an electrolytic solution is less than 20 wt% in a -20°C to 95°C environment and the solubility to the electrolytic solution is 50 wt% or more in a 100±5°C environment.
