PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olefin oliogomer, by which the oligomer yield of a specific fraction (trimer and/or tetramer) is selectively increased in producing an olefin oliogomer by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a solid acid catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for producing an olefin oligomer comprises bringing a raw material olefin into contact with a solid catalyst containing zirconia (ZrO<SB>2</SB>) compound oxide.
