PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a D.C. relay capable of reducing occurrence of an arc although it has a relatively simple structure allowing current adjustment. SOLUTION: This D.C. relay 1 is equipped with: a noncontact switch 2 capable of cutting off supply of power; and a first cutoff part 10 connected in series to the noncontact switch 2 and capable of being mechanically cut off. In supplying power to a load, the noncontact switch 2 is previously turned off, the cutoff part 10 is turned on, and the noncontact switch 2 is repeatedly turned on/off for a certain period in this state to limit the power to the load. In cutting off the supply of power, the noncontact switch 2 is first turned off, and thereafter the cutoff part 10 is turned off to prevent the occurrence of an arc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
