FIELD: medicine, infectious diseases. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antigenic composition and a method for detection of antibodies raised to Treponema pallidum in syphilis diagnosis. The antigenic composition comprises synthetic cardiolipin and synthetic lecithin (1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) and can comprise additionally cholesterol and alcohol. The antigenic composition can be used as an immunoreagent in immune analysis for detection of antibodies associated with the T. pallidum infection.
