PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus in which optimal image processing can be applied to digital image data. SOLUTION: A digital signal processing part 6 applies OB correction using OB data contained in RAW image data outputted from an A/D converting part 3 to eliminate a DC component in digital pixel data and sends YC data after YC conversion to a noise reduction processing part 62. A system control part 9 finds a variance of the OB data contained in the RAW image data outputted from the A/D converting part 3 and changes/controls noise reduction processing contents of the noise reduction processing part 62 in accordance with a value of the found variance. The noise reduction processing part 62 turns on/off a median filter on the basis of control from the system control part 9, and changes noise reduction processing contents for the YC data.
