<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify operation of a printing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus comprises a printing mechanism, a sensor, and a controller. The printing mechanism is provided with a conveyance mechanism for conveying a medium, and a printhead for ejecting an ink while it is moving, for printing an image on the medium. The sensor moves along with the printhead, and detects the image.
