<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect a test pattern formed on each image carrier in an image forming apparatus having a color image carrier and a black image carrier forming a yellow toner image, a magenta toner image, a cyan toner image, and a black toner image respectively and having a transfer belt opposed to the image carriers. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a first density detection means 17 for detecting image density of a black test pattern formed on the black image carrier 3BK, and a second density detection means 18 for detecting the image density of a chromatic test pattern transferred on the transfer belt 4 from the color image carriers 3Y, 3M and 3C respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
