<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly prevent paper from scattering from a paper feeding tray while suppressing increase in a cost for components and assembling by minimizing addition of components. <P>SOLUTION: In the paper feeding device, the paper feeding tray 14 on which the paper P is placed, and a feeding roller pair 50 taking in the paper P placed on the paper feeding tray 14 one by one are provided on a cover element 12 attached to an upper surface of an apparatus main body 11 so as to open/close. The paper feeding device is provided with a paper fixing means (a pick-up roller 52 in a first embodiment, and a lift plate 80 in a second embodiment) that can change a position between a paper pressing position capable of pressing the paper P placed on the paper feeding tray 14 and a releasing position releasing pressing, a paper presence/absence sensor 791 detecting that the paper P is placed on the paper feeding tray 14, and a control device 70 controlling to press the paper on the pick-up roller 52 on the basis of a detection signal of the paper presence/absence sensor 791. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
