PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection screen which is usable, for example, in bright environments and exhibits high lightness. SOLUTION: The projection screen has a base material and a polarized light selective reflection layer which has a cholesteric liquid crystal structure and which is formed on the base material and selectively reflects the light of a specified polarized light component. The polarized light selective reflection layer further contains a non-liquid-crystal compound which forms the cholesteric liquid crystal structure which is structurally irregular.
