PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component having excellent properties by provisionally burning evenly. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the ceramic electronic component comprises a first process wherein ceramic mixed powder is put into a cylinder inclined at a prescribed degree with respect to the horizontal direction, and is heated, and at the same time, is calcinated while being rotated, to obtain ceramic calcinated powder, a second process wherein a compact is made using the ceramic calcinated powder, and a third process of firing the compact. The ceramic mixed powder is formed mainly of barium titanate, and contains a silicon compound of 5 pts.wt. or less (not including 0) with respect to the barium titanate of 100 pts.wt.
