<p>1304098 5-Nitrothiazole derivatives DR KARL THOMAE GmbH 8 April 1970 [9 April 1969] 16697/70 Addition to 1250353 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Novel compounds of Formula I: (in which R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a C 1-3 alkyl group, each of R 2 and R 3 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 4 is a C 1-3 alkyl group and n is 0 or 1) and acid addition salts thereof, are prepared (a) by reacting a compound of Formula II: (in which each of R 5 and R 6 is a halogen atom or an alkylthio, aralkylthio or alkenylthio group, or R 5 and R 6 together represent a C 1-3 bismercaptoalkylene group) with a compound of Formula III: or (b) by reacting a compound of Formula IV: (in which A is a halogen atom or an arylthio group) with a compound of Formula V: or (c) for compounds I in which R 1 is a hydrogen atom, by (i) nitrating a compound of Formula VI: or (ii) alkylating a compound of Formula VII: or (iii) reacting 2-amino-5-nitrothiazole with a compound of Formula VIII (in which R 7 is alkyl, aralkyl or alkenyl). Compounds of Formula II in which one or both of R 5 and R 6 is halogen are prepared by halogenation of 2 - [bis - alkylthio - methylene)- amino] - 5 - nitrothiazoles.</p> |
