The connector comprises a base part (2) with two integral spaced side members (3,4) connected thereto each supporting a holder (5, 6). Two opposite holders together form a pair of clamps for connecting with a profile and the two side members are tensioned relative to each other through tensioners. The two side members can be resilient relative to each other. In the edge area between the base and side members are reinforcement or weakening members to influence the spring tension between the side members.
