A method for regulating the brightness of at least an LED (12), whereby a pulsed current (IPULS) is applied to the LED with the pulse amplitude and duration defining the brightness of the LED. The pulse amplitude defines a brightness range, while the pulse duration or frequency defines a selected brightness within the brightness range. An independent claim is made for a circuit arrangement for regulating the brightness of an LED.
