Method for loading chip cards with initialization and personalization data, whereby the data is loaded using a number of individual card read-write units that are connected to a common personal computer. The read-write units contain stored data blocks that hold at least a part of the data that is to be written to the chip cards. An independent claim is made for an arrangement for loading chip cards with initializing and personalization data.
