A truck-mounted mobile drill makes holes in a concrete road surface for the installation of roadside crash barriers. The drill is mounted on a vertical drill stand and is raised and lowered by a power system linked to pick-up on the drill. The drill further has a side-arm bearing a supplementary mass. Drill advance and withdrawal is regulated by a sensor.
