<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell cell in which an electrolyte membrane is constantly humidified even at the time of the dry condition operation of the fuel cell and which has high durability and high battery performance. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell 5 comprises an electrolyte membrane 4, an anode catalyst layer 3 formed on one side of the electrolyte membrane, a cathode catalyst layer 2 formed on the other side of the electrolyte membrane, and a water holding layer 1 which is formed between the electrolyte membrane and the cathode catalyst layer or between the electrolyte membrane and the anode catalyst layer, or between both of these, so as to contact the electrolyte membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
