<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a printing device or the like which more simply adjusts an intensity of reflecting light to be received by a light receiving sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device which has a printing head, the light receiving sensor capable of moving with the printing head, and a guiding means for movably guiding the printing head and the light receiving sensor carries out printing by forming dots to a body to be printed by the printing head. The printing device judges whether or not the formation of dots is normally carried out by emitting light towards the body to be printed, receiving the reflecting light by the body to be printed of the emitted light by the light receiving sensor, and comparing an output value of the light receiving sensor corresponding to an intensity of the received reflecting light with a threshold. The printing device adjusts the intensity of the reflecting light to be received by the light receiving sensor by changing a distance between the guiding member and the body to be printed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
