<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a long service life by improving heat radiation in a lead storage battery system where a plurality of large-sized lead storage batteries are connected in series. <P>SOLUTION: In a clad type lead storage battery, a plurality of ribs 2 each having a protrusion 5 mm high and 10 mm wide are provided on the side face of a battery jar 4 in the vertical direction, and a metal foil 6, for example, a lead foil is stuck to four side faces of the battery jar 4. The batteries are installed in a battery case 8 so that portions of the ribs 2 are opposed to each other.
