PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display which lightens the burden on the operator for operating a controller, a server apparatus and the controller, a communication system comprising these and a communication method. SOLUTION: The display 11a receives the key information over a control network. A signal pattern generator 15 generates a signal pattern, based on the received key information. The display 11a receives a signal pattern similarly generated by a server apparatus via its information terminal 17a. When a signal pattern comparator 18 compares this signal pattern with that signal pattern generated by the generator 15 to decide both to be equal, an input signal changer 16 switches the connection to the input terminal 17a.
