PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost tire having run flat characteristics equivalent to those of a tire having rayon carcass by improving the boundary surface strength, specifically the boundary strength at high temperatures of polyester cords in rubber. SOLUTION: In a run flat tire, at least one of a radial carcass play, an underlay, an overlay, a bead insert, and the elements thereof including chipper is reinforced by the polyester cords having polyepoxide on the surface thereof. The polyester cords are formed by first twining a plurality of polyester yarns to provide the cords, second treating the cords with a water dispersion containing polyepoxide, and third treating the cords with an aqueous RFL dispersion containing a resorcinol formaldehyde resin, a styrene-butadiene copolymer latex, a vinyl pyridine-styrene-butadiene terpolymer latex, and a block isocianate.
