PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flowing noise of a cooling medium as power is charged when causing increase of circulation quantity of the cooling medium. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator, flow of cooling medium is changed by a three-way valve 3 to a refrigeration chamber circuit and a freezing chamber circuit, so that a refrigeration chamber 8 and a freezing chamber 9 are alternately cooled. Refrigeration chamber cooling time and freezing chamber cooling time are respectively fixed to prescribed time for set time after power is charged, where the prescribed time for the freezing chamber cooling time is set longer than that for the refrigeration chamber cooling time. Sufficient cooling medium can thus be held in a vaporizer for the freezing chamber. Increase of cooling medium circulation quantity during cooling of the refrigeration chamber is thus restricted when freezing chamber cooling mode is changed into refrigeration chamber cooling mode. Generation of flowing noise of cooling medium around a first capillary 4 disposed upstream of a vaporizer for the refrigeration chamber can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
