PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder ensuring an image having high image quality by realizing an ink liquid drop controller controlling the weight of ink liquid drops being ejected from all nozzles and the landing position thereof on a recording medium accurately. SOLUTION: The ink liquid drop controller comprises a recording head having a plurality of nozzles, and an optical device having a light emitting part and a light receiving part located on the opposite sides of the passage of an ink liquid drop being ejected from the nozzle, and controls the weight or diameter of the ink liquid drop and the landing position thereof on a recording medium by an electric signal transmitted from the light receiving part of the optical device.
