A release mechanism (35-37) is located in the valve housing (20) between the first connection (23) and the valve head (25). The release mechanism can be actuated from outside, and comprises a bolt (35) which projects from the first connection towards the valve head. The release mechanism further consists of a positioning washer (36) and a fixing washer (37). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a tool for relieving the pressure in a pressure holding valve (18), (b) and a fuel injection system.
