<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge embedded information highly precisely without increasing a strength of embedding information. <P>SOLUTION: Embedded electronic watermark information isjudged from image data by revising a data value of at least one piece of pixel data among a plurality of pieces of pixel data of the image data. First, a data value of at least one piece of pixel data is estimated by using at least two pieces of pixel data placed in the vicinity of the pixel data through interpolation. Then, the estimated data value of the pixel data is compared with an actual data value to detect the amount of revision applied to the pixel data.
