<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber interconnection device in which optical fibers are interconnected without damaging the optical fibers and to provide a method of interconnection by using the device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber interconnection device is provided with an optical fiber interconnection head 2 and a braking means which moves the optical fiber interconnection head, and the optical fibers are positioned on an adhesive material layer provided on a base material, interconnected and fixed with the optical fiber interconnection head.
