POLYLACTIC ACID-BASED MONOFILAMENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monofilament suitable for strings for racket, further having practically sufficient mechanical strength and excellent in processability.

SOLUTION: The monofilament is obtained by carrying out extrusion molding and stretching processing of a mixed material mainly containing (A) a polylactic acid-based polymer and (B) a copolymerized polyester containing 20-80 wt.% lactic acid component. The copolymer polyester (B) is preferably a blocked copolymer. A method for producing the monofilament comprises a step for mixing (A) the polylactic acid polymer with (B) the copolymerized polyester containing 20-80 wt.% lactic acid component and a step for carrying out extrusion molding or stretching processing of the resultant mixing material.
