PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the correction of a focused position depending on the surrounding temperature of a focus lens. SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 14 that detects the surrounding temperature of the focus lens 11c is disposed in a lens barrel 12. A data table that presents the relation between the surrounding temperature of the focus lens 11c and the correction amount of drive pulse of a focus motor 31 is stored into an SDRAM 46. A CPU 34 determines the correction amount of the drive pulse of the focus motor 31 from temperature data transmitted from the temperature sensor 14 via an A/D converter 56 and the data table stored in the SDRAM 46 and, in accordance with the correction amount, sets the searching range of the focusing position of the focus lens 11c. The CPU 34 moves the focus lens 11c within the set searching range and searches for the focused position while detecting the focused state with an AF detection circuit 53.
