PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which has the thickness and a strength capable of being stored into a breast pocket of shirt and a hip pocket of blue jeans etc., has such a lightness as to give rise to no sense of incongruity even when stored in such pockets and a handbag etc. and moreover has satisfactory handleability. SOLUTION: A light emitter is arranged so that the photographing window side in an imaging part is extended, a distance from the photographing window side to the rotation center of a hinge mechanism is made larger than the distance of the reverse side, the reverse side to the photographing window in the imaging part is made thin and, thereby, the size of the whole electronic camera is made small. At the same time, by letting the distance from the photographing window side to the rotation center of the hinge mechanism is made larger than the distance of the reverse side and, thereby, it is made possible to direct a lens to the object side with a slight rotation operation in the imaging part.
