PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the shortage of ice when a block ice occurs. SOLUTION: When an ice storage detecting means 34 detects a high level H, a controller 30 stops ice making operation and the controller 30 controls the ice making operation to be started on condition that an actual ice reduction amount exceeds a preset operation starting amount C. During stopping the ice making operation, when a total ice release time T6 is a preset time T7 or longer specified by an ice releasing timer 44 which counts a time for releasing compressed water from an ice release port 26, if the ice storage detecting means 34 detects the high level H, the controller 30 determines that block ice exists. Then, when the ice storage detecting means 34 detects a low level L, the ice making operation is started independently of a value for the actual ice reduction amount G. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
