PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving device capable of moving any object to a specified position accurately and transporting even for a long distance. SOLUTION: The device is to move the object from the reference position to the position where it is to be installed, and is composed of a motion member 11 installed movably between the reference position and the installing position and a motion mechanism to move the motion member 11, wherein the motion mechanism is composed of a rail 12 whose axial direction is oriented parallel with the line tying the reference position with the installing position and whereon the motion member is installed, a supporting member 10b to support the rail 12 movably in the axial direction, and a rack-and-pinion mechanism having a rack 16 extending in the axial direction of the rail 12. Accordingly the moving amount and speed of the motion member 11 can be adjusted only by adjusting the rotation amount and rotating speed of the pinion 17, and also it is possible to adjust accurately the moving amount and the moving speed.
