PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong continuous work possible time of a pneumatic tool driven by an air compressor having small discharge amount markedly. SOLUTION: This air compressor has a tank part for storing compressed air, a compressed air generation part for generating compressed air and supplying it to the tank part, a motor for driving the compressed air generation part, and a pressure switch mechanism having a pressure sensor in a part of the tank part to control turning on/off of the motor in accordance with output of the pressure sensor. When time-varying rate of pressure in an air receiver is larger than a predetermined value, the motor is started again without waiting for drop of pressure down to a switch on point when pressure drops.
