PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion prevention method for a metal thermal spraying face where a coating liquid can easily infiltrate into the voids of a sprayed coating, volume shrinkage in a degree of forming space is not caused when the voids are filled and dry hardening is performed, satisfactory wettability is exhibited to the thermal spraying face, coating film defects such as cracks and crazing are not arisen on the dry hardening, and the metal thermal spraying face can be protected from a corrosive environment by a barrier effect. SOLUTION: In the corrosion prevention method for a metal thermal spraying face, the thermal spraying face of metal selected from zinc, aluminum and a zinc/aluminum pseudo alloy is coated with an alkali aqueous solution consisting mainly of an alkali silicate (M<SB>2</SB>O-nSiO<SB>2</SB>); wherein, M is any one element selected from Na, K, Li and Cs, and also, n is 1 to 5. Alternatively, in the corrosion prevention method for a metal thermal spraying face, the thermal spraying face of metal selected from zinc, aluminum and a zinc/aluminum pseudo alloy is coated with an alkali aqueous solution consisting mainly of an alkali silicate and comprising ammonium ions and halogen ions.
