It is intended to provide a method of refolding an inactive protein which is produced by Escherichia coli or the like and the higher-order structure of which is still unformed or a protein which has been activated due to a change in its three-dimensional structure for some reason, etc. Namely, a method comprising treating an inactive protein which is produced by Escherichia coli or the like and the higher-order structure of which is still unformed or a protein which has been activated due to a change in its three-dimensional structure for some reason with zeolite beta to thereby impart the inherent function or activity to the protein; a refolding kit; a refolding agent and a molded article; and a method of producing an active protein with the use of the same. Thus, it is possible to provide a novel method of activating protein function that is excellent in versatility and universality, can be conveniently and easily carried out, is less expensive and allows repeated use of a function activator, compared with the existing methods.
