<p>An ink cartridge (2; 402) for reserving an ink (60) in an inner space defined therein, including: (a) an ink supplying portion (63; 425) provided to face a lower portion of the inner space so as to allow supply of the ink from the inner space therethrough; (b) an air introducing portion (68; 426) provided to face the lower portion of the inner space so as to allow introduction of an air into the inner space therethrough; (c) at least one electrode receiver (91, 92; 421, 422) for receiving first and second electrodes (51, 52; 451, 452), such that the first and second electrodes face the inner space; and (d) a bubble-path-formation restrainer (65; 167; 267; 267, 272; 464; 490) restraining an electrical path (A) allowing a continuity between the first and second electrodes, from being formed of a bubble (W) which is generated as a result of the introduction of the air into the inner space. Also disclosed is an inkjet recording apparatus including the above-described ink cartridge and a detector (50; 476) which detects an electrical characteristic between the first and second electrodes. <IMAGE></p> |
