A system for data integration in providing a target model is described. The system described comprises an adaptable user drive interface for defining an integrated input from a respective one of a plurality of sources and directly to form the model from data input and properties defined for each input. The target model described is "soft" and formed directly as a result of the data input and the properties or mappings defined for each input.
