Water dispersible closure for containers

A closure for a bottle comprises 2 components which are dispersible in an aqueous medium and which are activated by different means. The bottle is preferably one which is to be used in for example a dishwasher, for dispensing washing aids. The first component is preferably insoluble in water and is activated by e.g. melting at an elevated temperature, suitable materials being waxes. The second component is preferably soluble in water and can be a water soluble polymer such as PVA, polylactic acid or polyvinylpyrrolidone. The polymer is preferably pH sensitive such that it is only soluble at pH below 9, and to this end contains a basic group such as an amine grouping. In one embodiment the bottle is compartmentalised into two separate chambers each being closed by a different one of the two components.
