METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL, ESPECIALLY PREVENTING ERRONEOUS DISCHARGE DURING INITIAL PERIOD

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to prevent the erroneous discharge during an initial period by applying the positive voltage to the sustain electrode during the setup period of the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes the steps of: supplying a rising ramp waveform to the scan electrodes during the setup period among the initialization period; sustaining the peak voltage supplied to the scan electrodes during the setup period; supplying the falling ramp waveform during the set down period among the initialization periods; and supplying the second positive voltage to the sustain electrodes during a partial period among the initialization period.
