Free fibers (10) are deposited on a rotary support plate (30) by means of a hollow deposition cone (40) comprising an outer partition surrounding a chamber and being pierced by multiple perforations. The fibers are guided to the outer surface of the perforated wall of the cone (40) in a feed zone of the deposition cone on the plate (30), are then maintained by creating a depression in the chamber, resulting in suction via the perforations of the partition of the cone, in order to be transported by rotating the cone from the feed zone to the zone for deposition on the plate, and maintenance of the fibers is suppressed in the zone of deposition by localized interruption of the suction via the perforations of the partition of the cone, at least on the level of said zone, such that the fibers transported are deposited on the plate which is rotatingly driven around the axis thereof simultaneously with the cone. The fibers deposited on the rotary plate (30) can be compacted and needled. |
