PURPOSE: A navigation system and a method for operating the same are provided to supplies the reliability to the path guide service by listening the path guide voice broadcast without attending the display unit of the navigation system. CONSTITUTION: A navigation system includes a display unit(10), a first data base(30), a second data base(40), a controller(20), a first amplifying unit(50) and a second amplifying unit(60). The first data base stores the detail information related to each road points and the cross-sections. The second data base stores the voice data so as to supply the voice guide service. The controller analyzes the current driving states when the touch is detected, and it outputs the generated guide information by accessing the voice data for the guide information to the second data base. The first amplifying unit compensates the signal to noise ratio together with removing the noise components including the voice data. And, the second amplifier amplifies the voice data applied by the first amplifying unit to a predetermined level through the speaker(Spk).
