PURPOSE: To provide a composition for ladle heat reserving material having excellent adiabaticity that is injected into a ladle after secondary refining at steelmaking plant to maintain a constant temperature at all times by suppressing temperature drop of molten steel during transfer of ladle and from casting starting to casting finishing. CONSTITUTION: The composition for ladle adiabatic heat reserving material comprises 60 wt.% or less of SiO2, 40 wt.% or less of Al2O3 and 7 wt.% or less of fixed carbon, wherein the heat reserving material having the composition is injected into molten steel in a ladle to prevent generation of dust and obtain effects of oxidation prevention and heat reserving of the surface of molten steel, and wherein the heat reserving material has a specific gravity of 0.7 g/cc or less, a moisture content of 3% or less and a grain size of 3 to 15 m/m 90% or more. The composition for ladle adiabatic heat reserving material comprises 55 wt.% or less of SiO2, 35 wt.% or less of Al2O3, 5 wt.% or less of Fe2O3, 2 wt.% or less of MnO and 5 wt.% or less of fixed carbon, wherein the heat reserving material having the composition has high adiabaticity and good spreadability and generates less dust, and the heat reserving material is injected onto the surface of molten steel in ladle to suppress temperature drop of molten steel according to the passage of time, and wherein the heat reserving material has a specific gravity of 0.7 g/cc or less, a moisture content of 2% or less and a grain size of 3 to 15 m/m 90% or more.
