PURPOSE: A rack bar for a steering system for a vehicle is provided to reduce weight, to lower the manufacturing cost, and to satisfy quality required for the rack bar, by using a solid bar in a part where a rack gear is formed and using a hollow bar in the rest part. CONSTITUTION: A rack bar for a steering system for a vehicle includes a hollow bar(10); a solid bar(20) where a rack gear(122) is formed; and a combining unit combining the hollow bar and the solid bar. The combining unit comprises a female screw(14) formed to the hollow bar, and a male screw(24) formed to the solid bar. Through holes are formed in the hollow bar and the solid bar. A pin is inserted in the through hole. The through hole formed in the hollow bar and the pin are combined through welding.
