PURPOSE: A friction material manufacturing method of an electronic clutch is provided to improve the formability of mixed gel by mixing methanol, nanosilicon and surfactant with the friction material, and to increase the productivity by forming, stacking and compressing the gel friction material. CONSTITUTION: A gel friction material is manufactured by mixing methanol, nanosilicon and surfactant with friction material including phenolic resin, rubber dust, resin dust and inorganic matters, and put in a mold and preformed by heating. A separation layer is formed by spreading the separating agent between the preformed friction materials, and the friction materials are stacked in multiple stages. The friction material is compressed by applying heat at high pressure. The friction materials are separated by the separation layer, and the separated friction material is cooled and ground.
