PURPOSE: An airbag for a passenger seat of a vehicle is provided to make the best use of internal space of the steering wheel, and to prevent secondary injury from deployment of the air cushion in seating the passenger abnormally by mounting the airbag module in the roof over the passenger. CONSTITUTION: An airbag for a passenger seat of a vehicle is composed of a passenger seat airbag module(100) having an air cushion(110), an inflator supplying gas to the air cushion and a housing containing the air cushion and the inflator, and a control unit controlling the passenger seat airbag module. The passenger seat airbag module is installed in a roof(200) placed over the front of the passenger seated on the passenger seat next to a driver's seat. A cushion guide part is mounted in the housing to guide the deploy direction of the air cushion to the front of the passenger seated on the passenger seat. Secondary injury is prevented by deploying the air cushion downward from the roof in operating the airbag module. |
