POSITION DETERMINATION ENTITY HAVING SECTOR INFORMATION AND A METHOD FOR ENHANCING ACCURACY IN MEASURING A POSITION OP TERMINAL BY USING THE SAME, PARTICULARLY FOR OBTAINING A SECTOR ID WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED IN A PPM MESSAGE BY USING PN INFORMATION AND THEN ESTIMATING A REFERENCE POSITION OF A CORRESPONDING SECTOR AS AN INITIAL POSITION OF A TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A PDE(Position Determination Entity) having sector information and a method for enhancing accuracy in measuring a position of a terminal by using the same are provided to shorten a satellite signal acquiring time of a terminal and quickly and accurately obtaining a final position value of the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit of a PDE receives a PPM(Pilot Phase Measurement) message from a terminal(S100) and an ExBase ID(Extended Base Station ID) converter checks whether an ExBase ID includes information on a sector ID(S110). If the PPM message does not include information on the sector ID, the ExBase ID converter generates an arbitrary ExBase ID by allocating an arbitrary sector ID to an ExBase ID of an REF(Reference) PN(S150). It is checked whether there are an SID(Sector ID), an NID(Network ID) and data corresponding to the temporary ExBase ID in a BSA(Base Station Almanac)(S160). A new ExBase ID is determined by sequentially allocating adjacent PN information of PN 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 starting from one with the biggest pilot strength(S180). It is checked whether there is the same data in the BSA by allocating sector IDs 0, 1 and 2 by turns(S190). If the same data is found, the data is obtained as an initial position value of the terminal(S200).
