APPARATUS AND A METHOD FOR DETECTING A PIXEL DISTANCE TO CONTROL A THRESHOLD VALUE USED FOR BINARIZING VIDEO PIXELS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting distance from a pixel to a few pixels are provided to promptly detect a distance between a pixel to be binarized and a minor pixel, thereby calculating a threshold value to realize binarization rapidly. CONSTITUTION: The first coordinates of a predetermined pixel are determined for each pixel of a image to be converted to binary data, on the basis of each of minor pixels(10). The first pixel distance which corresponds to a distance between a predetermined pixel and a minor pixels is detected by using the first coordinates(12). A threshold value is adjusted by the first pixel distance, and then a predetermined pixel is changed to binary data. If the binarized pixel corresponds to one of the minor pixels, the first coordinates are reset.
