PURPOSE: A driving method and a driving apparatus of a plasma display panel are provided to improve the display quality by displaying the gray level of the original image signal at the contrast ratio adjusted image. CONSTITUTION: A driving apparatus of a plasma display panel includes an image signal adjust unit(132), an image level detection unit(136), an image signal quantization converting unit(134) and a panel driving circuit. The image signal adjust unit adjusts the voltage of the input analog image signal in response to the command of the user. The image level detection unit detects the amplitude and the voltage change of the analog image signal adjusted by the image signal adjust unit. The image signal quantization converting unit converts the analog image signal into the digital image signal by adjusting the quantization level value of the analog image signal adjusted by the image signal adjust unit in response tot he amplitude and the voltage change. And, the panel driving circuit display the digital image signal on the plasma display panel. |
