PURPOSE: An optical disk and a disk information recording method of the optical disk are provided to effectively record speed information within disk information, and to efficiently perform recording/reproducing processes of an optical disk by the recorded disk information, thereby realizing compatibility between the same system of disks. CONSTITUTION: Disk information is separately stored according to allowable speeds. Speed information for indicating a speed and recording-related information in accordance with the corresponding speed are recorded within the disk information. The disk information is recorded in a pre-recorded area during a disk fabrication. The disk information is recorded as an RF modulated signal in the pre-recorded area. The velocity information expresses the corresponding speed in binary type by assigning specific bits.
